June 2008:  National Grid Agree to Support the “Escley Project”

National Grid laid the huge gas pipeline from West Wales to Gloucester and on the way it passed through the Golden Valley, crossing the Dore and various tributaries. National Grid, in common with their predecessors, Transco, who supported the River Monnow Project at a crucial stage, recognise a good cause when they see one and have agreed to provide £47,000 to funding habitat improvement works on the Escley Brook which was not worked on as part of the previous Project. MFA will provide £22,000 match funding.
